Service
Owner services.
A private point of contact for yacht owners, coordinating management, charter strategy, maintenance, crew, refit and operational support through selected specialists.
The relationship
How the relationship runs.
Owner services keeps a yacht in active, owner-ready condition across the calendar year. We coordinate the captain, the crew programme, the maintenance cycle, the charter strategy where applicable, and the day-to-day logistics — through a network of trusted yacht managers, shipyards and class societies we have worked with directly.
The owner’s relationship is with a single Balthazar advisor; the operational specialists are coordinated behind that advisor. Costs are itemised against agreed budgets, regular reporting goes to the owner or their family office, and operational decisions stay clearly with the principal.
What we cover
What the brief covers.
Step 01
Crew and captain
Rotation, contracts, payroll and continuity. Captain selection where required, recommended through our network rather than from a single agency.
Step 02
Technical and compliance
Maintenance schedule, refit cycle, flag-state and class-society compliance, regulatory paperwork. Coordinated through a yacht-management firm under our brief.
Step 03
Charter strategy
If the yacht is positioned commercially: central-agency relationship, pricing strategy, season calendar. Owner’s private weeks are protected first.
Step 04
Reporting and accounts
Regular reporting to the owner or family office. Costs itemised against agreed budgets. Operational decisions stay with the principal.
Specialist services
Areas of focus.

Charter management
Positioning a private yacht into the charter market — itinerary, pricing, central agency and the season calendar.

New build & refit advisory
Owner-side advisory across new-build briefs, shipyard selection and refit programmes.

Private owner support
On-the-day, owner-ready support during cruising weeks and major events.

Yacht management
Day-to-day yacht management — crew, accounts, technical oversight and ISM/MLC compliance.
Standards
Operational discipline, year-round.
Operational continuity year-round.
A single advisor across seasons, shipyards and crew rotations. The relationship outlasts the individual charter, season or refit period.
Cost transparency, itemised.
Costs are itemised against agreed budgets and reported on a regular cadence. Specialist firms are coordinated behind the advisor: at their published rates, with disclosure on referrals.
Single point of accountability.
The owner sees one report and one point of contact. The captain, the management firm, the shipyard and the family-office team coordinate behind that contact.
