Motor yacht cruising off Saint-Tropez on a sunny day

Yacht charter.

Day charter.

Short-format charter for an afternoon, a sundown route or a guest-led day on the water.

Overview

Light format, full service.

Day charter is the lightest format: most-requested in Dubai, the French Riviera and the Cyclades. A morning departure, a chosen anchorage for lunch and swimming, and a return before sundown, with full crew and catering aboard.

A typical private day charter runs eight to ten hours from a coastal port. The route is set the day before and flexed to the weather and the guests on the morning: a sheltered bay for swimming, a beach club for lunch, a slow coastal cruise back as the light drops. The crew, the fuel and the provisioning are arranged in advance, so the day itself asks nothing of the guest.

Half-day and sundown formats are arranged where the harbour and the season allow: a few hours either side of midday, or a shorter evening cruise timed to the sunset. Performance and open yachts (Pershing, Mangusta, Wally) suit the day format well, though most of the wider fleet is available for single-day use between weekly bookings.

Dubai runs day charters through the cooler months along Palm Jumeirah, with evening cruising past the Burj Al Arab; the French Riviera and the Cyclades run through the summer from Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Mykonos. A private advisor holds the day from the first enquiry to the return to port, and steps in if the weather moves the plan.

Frequently asked

Practical questions.

What does a day charter include?
A day charter typically runs 8–10 hours from a coastal embarkation, with the yacht, the crew, and the day's routing arranged in advance. Lunch aboard or at a beach club is not included but can be added; the routing is flexible to the day's weather and the guests' preferences.
How much does a day charter cost?
Day charter rates depend on the yacht size and the embarkation port. Yachts in the 25–40 metre range typically run EUR 15,000–35,000 for a Mediterranean day, with fuel and provisioning additional.
What yachts are available for day charter?
Most charter yachts in our fleet are available for day charters during the season, subject to the weekly schedule. Smaller and performance-focused yachts (Pershing, Mangusta, Wally) are particularly well-suited to day-charter use.
How long is a day charter?
Typically eight to ten hours, from a mid-morning departure to a return before or around sunset. Half-day formats and shorter sundown cruises are arranged where the port and the season allow.
Where are day charters available?
Most active in Dubai (through the cooler months), the French Riviera (Cannes, Antibes, Saint-Tropez) and the Greek islands (Mykonos and the Cyclades) in summer. Day charter from other ports is arranged subject to the local fleet and the weekly schedule.
Is lunch included on a day charter?
Not by default, but it is easily added: aboard with the crew, or at a beach club along the route. The advisor arranges provisioning or a reservation as part of the day.
Can a day charter be arranged at short notice?
Often, yes. Because the format uses gaps in the weekly schedule, a day charter can sometimes be arranged within a few days when a yacht is between bookings. The selection narrows in peak weeks, so earlier notice widens the choice.
