The north-western Tramuntana coast offers protected anchorages between dramatic limestone cliffs, while the Pollença and Alcúdia bays on the eastern coast handle calmer-water cruising and family days. Palma de Mallorca is the principal embarkation port.

The brief usually splits along two coastlines. The Tramuntana is the dramatic side, a run of coves tucked beneath the cliffs that rewards settled weather and an early start. The eastern bays of Pollença and Alcúdia are the steadier counterpart, reliable through the summer months and better suited to swimming, lunch at anchor and shorter hops. Most weeks combine the two, with Palma or Puerto Portals as the working base between them.

Palma anchors the operation. As the principal Balearic embarkation it carries international arrivals, superyacht-grade berthing and the advisor and crew relationships that keep a charter running smoothly through peak demand. Puerto Portals, just west of the city, is the boutique alternative for shorter itineraries, a walkable village setting that works well for embarkation when the brief does not need Palma’s scale.

Mallorca also reads as the centre of the wider Balearic loop. Ibiza sits a half-day passage to the south, Menorca a similar distance east, and both feature naturally in extended cruises. For longer briefs the routing reaches beyond the islands toward Sardinia and the southern French coast, which makes the island a practical starting point for a broader western Mediterranean passage rather than a single-island week.
