The Amalfi Coast is a forty-kilometre stretch of vertical cliff, pastel village and small harbour that defines the southern Italian charter experience. Embarkation runs from Marina di Stabia south of Naples or Porto di Salerno on the eastern end; the cruising itself is anchorage-based: Positano, Amalfi town, Praiano, Capri. A yacht is less a luxury here than a practicality. It is the only way to reach the villages and the grottoes without the coast road.

The Amalfi Coast yacht charter rhythm is built around day anchorages rather than berth-to-berth hops. A typical brief threads Positano for the morning, lunch at anchor off Praiano or Amalfi town, and an afternoon passage toward Capri. Sorrento sits at the northern entrance to the coast and Salerno at the eastern end, so most routings run the full length in one direction and re-cross open water for the return. Tender access governs shore time, and the advisor sets the timing against ferry traffic in the busier harbours.

The season runs mid-May through early October. June and September consistently return the best balance of weather and crowding; August carries the largest fleet but the busiest anchorages. Capri is a half-day passage and a fixture on almost every itinerary, with Ischia and Procida slightly further north. The Pontine islands sit within a single overnight for charters that want quieter water away from the principal coast.

Onward cruising from the Amalfi Coast is straightforward and standard for longer charters. Sardinia and the Aeolian islands are both within range, and in the shoulder months a repositioning leg can open the way toward the French Riviera. Five to seven nights covers the Amalfi-and-Capri loop comfortably; longer briefs use the same base ports and the same crew network to extend the cruising ground.
