The yard
Sanlorenzo has built yachts in Liguria since 1958 and has kept, through its growth, the habit of building fewer yachts than it could sell. Each one is semi-custom: the hull and the structure are shared, and the interior is drawn with the owner, often by an architect from outside yachting. The result is a yacht that looks restrained from the quay and personal inside. The yard builds composite yachts from 24 to 38 metres at Ameglia, and aluminium and steel superyachts from 44 to 73 metres at La Spezia.
The models buyers look for
The SL line is the planing flybridge yacht, from the SL78 to the SL120. The SD line is the semi-displacement yacht, slower and longer-legged, with the profile of a classic motor yacht. The SX line, launched in 2017 with the SX88, is the crossover: a single open deck aft, a beach club at water level and a raised wheelhouse. In Dubai, the SX and the larger SL models draw the most interest, and the superyacht division's 44 to 52-metre yachts are followed by buyers who want a Dutch-level build at an Italian price.
Buying a Sanlorenzo
Because each Sanlorenzo interior is different, the first question is whether this yacht suits how you will use it; the second is how it has been kept. We read the service history of the engines and systems, look at the composite or metal hull, the finishes and the record of any refit, and attend viewings and the sea trial with you. An independent survey precedes any commitment, and the yacht's charter record, where it has one, tells how it has been run.
Keeping a Sanlorenzo in Dubai
Sanlorenzo yachts are built for owners who spend time on board, and Dubai's season rewards that. Berthing, crew and maintenance follow the purchase, and we arrange them, with a charter programme for owners who want the yacht to pay part of its way.
